Why use databases?

A database is an online collection of sources such as electronic journal articles, videos, research papers, statistics or clinical tools. Most databases offer Advanced Search functions, so you can use your search strategy.You will find peer-reviewed and scholarly journal articles in databases.

Find databases through the library website

  1. Go to the Library Website
  2. Select Databases
  3. From this screen you can either:
    1. View the Database list A-Z (complete list)
    2. Select the letter for the database (if you know the name)
    3. Select the subject area
  4. Select the name of a database and login if prompted.

Hint: many databases include a help section if you stuck with your search.

Find databases through Subject Guides

  1. Go to the Library Website
  2. Select Library Guides
  3. Select your subject area
  4. Select the most appropriate Guide for your course
  5. Select Journals and Databases
