Troubleshooting

Get help with Course Readings

Contact course_readings@usc.edu.au if:

  1. a link to your Course Readings does not appear in your LMS course,
  2. you don’t see a draft reading list after selecting Course Readings,
  3. you are experiencing technical difficulties with your reading list, or
  4. you would like advice on adding, editing or deleting items within Course Readings.

Contact your Liaison Librarian if you need helping finding relevant, quality sources to include in your readings list.

Student view error message

Course Coordinators will encounter an error message when attempting to view Course Readings in Student View.  Course Coordinators must click out of Student View in Canvas before trying to access Course Readings.  This does not indicate there is an issue for students who will not get the same error.

Links not working

  • The article links to the journal rather than the article. Some databases do not allow us to link directly to articles.  Students will need to search within the journal to find the article.
  • The link goes to the wrong article or source. Students can mark a link as broken in the Reading List and the library will investigate the cause and fix any issues.

eBook access issues

Due to licensing restrictions, some eBooks are restricted by how many users are able to access the eBook at the same time. A notice will display on the eBook if the maximum number of users has been reached.  It is recommended students wait and try to access the eBook again later.

Pop-ups

It is recommended staff and students enable pop-ups on their device to access Course Readings.
