Set up the reading list

Add and edit citations

Finalise the list

About Course Readings

Course Readings is the UniSC reading list management system that enables you to easily create, manage, and share readings and resources to engage students and foster meaningful learning, while saving you time and effort.

Lists can be organised into sections and include materials of all types---physical books, ebooks, digitised book chapters, journal articles, streaming videos and websites. You can build a resource list by yourself or collaborate with others, such as tutors, learning advisors and librarians. Once processed and published, students can access these required and recommended resources within their Course.

Create structured, annotated reading lists that include resources of all types
Reading lists are automatically rolled over each teaching period
Easily update content during the teaching period
Collaborate with tutors
Monitor student engagement with resources through the system analytics

Student Benefits

Access a comprehensive list of online, full-text resources from within Canvas
Interact with the lists and recommend resources to peers (optional feature moderated by the Course Coordinator)

When do Course Readings need to be finalised?

Course Coordinators are asked to send their lists to the library for processing:

4 weeks prior to the start of Semester based courses
3 weeks prior to the start of Session and Trimester based courses

All reading lists will be published by the Library once the list has been sent. All unsent lists will be published 2 weeks prior to the start of the teaching period.

Get help with Course Readings

Contact course_readings@usc.edu.au if:

a link to your Course Readings does not appear in your LMS course,
you don’t see a draft reading list after selecting Course Readings,
you are experiencing technical difficulties with your reading list, or
you would like advice on adding, editing or deleting items within Course Readings.

Contact your Liaison Librarian if you need helping finding relevant, quality sources to include in your readings list.
