Course Readings Overview

Course Readings is a new reading list management system for USC. This new system offers a number of advantages for course coordinators and students. It enables the course coordinator to develop a reading list within a Blackboard course site and push it through to the Library for actioning.

Course Coordinator Benefits

You can :

  • Create interactive lists of citations from a range of sources - Library, YouTube, Streaming Video, Websites
  • Monitor student engagement with course resources through the system analytics
  • Promote student engagement by enabling the feature that allows students to recommend resources and post comments
  • Easily update content at any stage of the semester
  • Reuse elements or duplicate whole lists for other courses
  • Include your tutors as collaborators to allow them to edit the list as well

Student Benefits

  • A comprehensive reading list can be linked directly from their course Blackboard site
  • Linked directly to the full text for their resources
  • Student can interact with the lists and recommend resources to peers (optional feature moderated by the Course Coordinator)
