Nursing & Midwifery

Guide to quality nursing and midwifery information

Drug information sources

Drug information sources usually target professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists etc.) or consumers. Most sources of drug information will provide information at both levels but some will target just professionals, or just consumers. Many of the sources mentioned here will provide ready made information sheets that clinicians can give directly to their patients.

Approval of therapeutics goods is specific to each country (in Australia: the Therapeutics Goods Administration [TGA], a section of the Commonwealth Department of Health). Because of this, it is important to use Australian drug information sources when considering actual clinical use in Australia.
