Request Digitisation

A digitisation request is a request for the library to copy material from a print source and supply to you in PDF format. This may be a chapter from a book, or article from a journal or magazine.

Important: Copyright restrictions allow for only one chapter or 10% (whichever is greater) from a single source to be copied.

  1. Login to Discover
  2. Search the Library Catalogue for an item
  3. Select the item's title to open the full record
  4. In the Request section, select Digitisation
  5. Enter the chapter or article title, start page and end page
  6. Enter a comment if desired
  7. Select Send Digitisation Request
  8. Read the copyright acknowledgement and select I agree with the terms

Visit My Library Account to check the progress of your requests or cancel your request if it is no longer required.

Step 1 - request Digitisation

You are permitted to request a digital copy of a chapter from a book or an article from a print source.

First, find the item in the Catalogue, select the title to see the full record, then select Digitisation.

Step 2 - complete the form

Please enter the chapter, start page and end page (that is, the full range of pages you want scanned). You may submit multiple requests for the same book, provided the total does not exceed 10% of the total pages of the book.

Note: If you don't provide enough information, the library won't be able to process your request.

Step 3 - select Send Digitisation Request

Once you have completed the form, select Send Digitisation Request.

Step 4 - read the copyright notice and agree

You must read the Copyright notice and agree to the terms.

Step 5 - request outcome

If the item is available, your request will show as successful.

Note: A successful request may be rejected if it is in breach of copyright.

Step 5 - request outcome

If the item is currently on loan, or if it has been requested by others, your request will be placed in a queue. Login to My Library to monitor your position in the queue.

Note: A successful request may be rejected if it is in breach of copyright.
