The main difference between games and other activities is that there are rules and rewards.
The game may have different levels, and it may be single player or multi-player, but as the game progresses it generally becomes more challenging.

The key is to achieve flow – where the player’s ability matches the level of difficulty, and then you level-up.
Flow (psychology) was identified by Mihaly Csikszentmihályi in 1975 and can be applied to many situations (e.g. sport, work, music, education)
