Checklist for Journal article requests

  • Have you checked the USC library to see if the title you are looking for is already available? If you are looking for a journal article, you may need to also do a journal title search to check our subscription coverage.

  • Have you checked Google Scholar to see if the article you need is freely available?

  • Have you read the abstract and determined this is useful material?

  • Will the article be in a language you can understand?

UlrichsWeb is a useful tool that can help with information on a journal you are interested in. You can search by journal title or ISSN. If you search by journal title, you can locate the ISSN if you don’t already know it. The basic description includes the language it is printed in, whether it is peer reviewed and the type of content.
