For written instructions on how to find information, see the How to Guides. Also see the Business Subject Guides

Welcome to the course library guide (libguide)

USC's Library team consists of highly qualified and enthusiastic supporters of your education journey.

Librarians are our friends, they can help us to learn research strategies and skills that will reduce the time (and frustration) often spent in the early days of researching for assignments.

It is recommended that you attend the library skills workshop/s and use their Drop-in times to develop your skills and hone your research skills this semester to prepare for the rest of your Diploma or undergraduate studies.

Start by reading this page; then consider how this information will help you to get started.

Your research starting point

Before you begin searching for information, make sure you understand your topic and what you don't know.

  1. Write down what you already know about the topic and what you need to find out.
  2. Find dictionaries, encyclopedias for an overview of your topic.
  3. Find academic books to broaden your knowledge of your topic and to identify keywords.
  4. Find academic journal articles for detailed arguments about specific points.
