Getting Started

Before you begin searching for information, make sure you understand your topic and what you don't know.

  1. Write down what you already know about the topic and what you need to find out.
  2. Find dictionaries, encyclopedias for an overview of your topic.
  3. Find academic books to broaden your knowledge of your topic and to identify keywords.
  4. Find academic journal articles for detailed arguments about specific points.

Law, Criminology and Justice drop in

When and where?

Semester 1 and 2 (weeks 2–13) except during semester breaks.

When: Tuesday 12noon-2pm

Where: Moot Court, JG.15, Building J, Sunshine Coast campus


This drop in can assist students with:

  • Study strategies and skills
  • Locating cases, journal articles and law resources
  • Referencing
