4.6 Journal Webpages and Instructions for Authors

If you can't to find a journal title using the Ulrichsweb.com database, search the internet to find a website for the journal. Try searching for the title of the journal in quotation marks. Eg "Harvard Business Review". Include the name of the publisher if known.

Information about the publication and its review processes can often be found in sections such as Instructions for Authors or Author Guidelines. This information can be found on the journal website or in the print edition of the journal:

  • Check for terms such as peer reviewed or refereed
  • Check the type of articles the journal publishes to ensure it publishes research articles.
  • Check to see if authors are asked to submit more than one copy of their article. Often multiple copies will be requested for reviewers.
